JOHN ROSENOW, founder and chief executive, The Arbor Day Foundation
John Rosenow is the founder and chief executive of the million-member, nonprofit Arbor Day Foundation. Under his leadership the foundation, working with a broad network of national partners, created the Tree City USA community forestry program, the Tree Line USA recognition program for utilities, the Trees For America public education program, and the Nature Explore program which provides resources to make nature a meaningful part of children's daily lives.
Rosenow is also publisher of the Tree City USA Bulletin series and the bimonthly publication, Arbor Day. Founded in 1972, the foundation's impact on improving communities and the environment includes planting and distributing more than 12 million trees annually.
