This is our last full day in Italy. We took a real long bus ride to Rome. Our previous hotel had a water main break so we got moved to a new hotel on the same side river as Vatican City, closer to the ancient part of Rome. We went to some of our favorite spots for the last time.

We went to Pompeii today.  They are some pretty incredible ruins, some of the best-preserved ruins we have seen. It is an incredible experience to walk down a street built thousands of years old and have it nearly the same, as it was when people lived there. The craziest thing is that the whole town is like that. In the afternoon we visited some Greek temples in Paestum. It was odd to think that Greece had once controlled this far into the Roman peninsula.

In Siena we climbed the tallest secular tower in Italy. It was in the town hall like building by the Piazza where they do the horse racing. After that we went to Duomo of Siena, an unfinished cathedral. After Siena we went to Assisi where we stayed the night.

We left Milan today on a bus to Pisa. We got to Pisa in the Early after noon and ate lunch. We then went up the leaning tower. Walking up was an odd because the way the tower leans. We then visited the church and baptistery that was part of the same complex. The baptistery had acoustics that made it echo when some one sang from the center. We then continued on to San Gimginano. We had an excellent group dinner at the hotel the explored the city after dark.

We started out the day at the National Science Museum, which had some neat exhibits on display. We then went to San Lorenzo, which has a massive dome for compared to the rest of the building. We then went to a shopping mall by Doumo called gallerie di Vittoria Emmanuelle II. We then went to Castello Sforesco a castle that now holds an art museum. We then went to the theater museum where we attempted to get opera tickets.  We then visited Santa Marie delle Grazie, a church next to where the Last Supper is. We then saw the Last Supper, where Steve got spectacularly busted for trying to take a photo.
