Construction Management

A Unit of The Durham School

CPC: Certified Professional Constructor

When compared nationally, the CM Department consistently achieves a high level of excellence.

The management of construction has changed and expanded dramatically. These changes have resulted in increased responsibilities and obligations for the constructor.

Professional constructors have readily accepted skills and are acquiring more of the technical and managerial knowledge necessary to execute the responsibilities and obligations required for their profession.

The Certified Professional Constructor process provides the constructor with formal recognition of the education and experience that defines the constructor as a professional.

The Constructor:
A professional practitioner of construction as defined by the AIC Constructor Certification Commission is an individual who possesses the skills and knowledge acquired by education and experience to manage the execution of all or a substantial portion of construction works. The practitioner is recognized by the construction industry as "CONSTRUCTOR"

The constructor is an individual who commits to serving the construction industry in a professional and ethical manner and engages in the continued development of his/her skills and education to meet increasing industry challenges and changes.
