Our Mission:
Provide a quality learning environment for undergraduate and graduate programs that prepare students as professionals in construction. Engage in scholarly activities that advance the program in construction education and provide service and outreach activities for the betterment of society.
Our Vision, Goals, and Objectives
Educate students in construction management:
- Recruit and retain quality students
- Maintain viable student body using 5-year rolling average as a benchmark
- Retain 80%, or better, students from sophomore year to graduation and graduate students who successfully complete their first semester of graduate study
- Strive for national recognition in scholarships and awards
- Align the Construction Management program with industry and socio-economic trends
- Strive for 100% placement of graduates
- Host a significant number of national and international firms/organizations interviewing for internships and permanent employment.
- Support industry through continuing education
Promote opportunities for continuous faculty development:
- Expand human and physical resources
- Development of estimating and scheduling laboratory
- Achieve Faculty/Student Ratio near the college average
- Acquire space to accommodate student needs
- Acquire additional funding for undergraduate/graduate support
Create an alliance with stakeholders to stimulate construction research initiatives:
- Establish Construction Management graduate education programs
- Obtain formal approval for a Masters of Science program in Construction
- Obtain formal approval for a PhD program in Construction
- Develop dual degree graduate program with Architecture
- Develop and sustain research initiatives that address in specific ways the issues and problems of a global society.
- Develop international resources and affiliations
- Seek approval as a provider of construction graduate degree programs for military officers
- Develop collaborative research opportunities
