Invest in the Engineering mechanics department
The Engineering Mechanics Department appreciates the financial support of alumni, corporations, foundations and friends to help enhance programs, facilities and technology to benefit students and faculty.
Engineering Mechanics Funding needs:
Frontiers of Mechanics Seminar
Endowed and expendable funds are needed to bring the top international researchers (e.g., members of the National Academy of Science and/or National Academy of Engineering) in the field of Engineering Mechanics from around the world to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Selected speakers would present a technical lecture on their specialty and interact with faculty and students in the College of Engineering.
Engineering Mechanics Instructional Laboratory
The Engineering Mechanics Instructional Laboratory (EMIL) provides tutoring services to 400 engineering undergraduate service courses. Each semester the department provide instruction for the fundamentals of engineering mechanics to students enrolled in the departments of Mechanical Engineering, Bio-Systems Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial and Management Systems Engineering, Construction Management, and Architecture. In addition, the Engineering Mechanics Department provides an on-line homework/testing service to aid students. Private support allows the department to hire tutors to help students improve their problem solving skills and to continue to update the departments on-line support services.
