Students graduating from the Industrial & Management Systems Engineering program at UNL receive a unique educational blend that gives them many career opportunities. The mission of the Department of Industrial and Management Systems Engineering is to prepare students to be future leaders by providing a quality education that focuses on lifelong learning experiences in a rapidly changing work environment.

- Outstanding Faculty: our faculty have extensive experience in industry and excel in both research and classroom education. Dedicated to teaching, faculty enjoy sharing research and practical experiences with students and many have won college and university teaching awards. In addition, many faculty hold registration as professional engineers and certifications in specialized fields.
- Diversity: our Industrial & Management Systems Engineer program has one of the highest female-to-male ratios in the College of Engineering. We have had graduate students from around the world. A small sampling of countries in which students have come from include: India, China, Malaysia, Pakistan, Indonesia, Columbia, Spain, Taiwan, and Venezuela.
- Professional Leadership: our graduates hold high-ranking positions in major corporations, small businesses, software firms, engineering firms, universities, and government agencies. Among our alumni are entrepreneurs, attorneys, company presidents and vice presidents, consultants, environmental managers, and professors.
- Computer Facilities: students in our program have access to a state-of-the-art computer facility.
- Research Labs: students benefit from a high degree of hands-on experience in numerous research centers and laboratories: Center for Non-Traditional Manufacturing Research, Packaging Lab, and Center for Ergonomics and Safety Research, and Distal Upper Limb Lab.

• Dr. Susan Hallbeck has returned from a 6-month sabbatical in the Netherlands where she worked for an ergonomics design firm 1-5-09
