August 2013: Prof. Kidambi has been awarded Young Investigator Award in the 17th International Symposium on the Cells of the Hepatic Sinusoid (ISCHS). He is also invited to give a talk in the Conference held in Osaka, Japan. Congratulations!


August 2013: Amita, Vaishaali, Christina presented their poster at the Molecular Mechanisms of Disease Program kickoff retreat. Christina’s abstract was selected as one of the 4 graduate student talks from 58 abstracts. Christina also won second prize in the poster competition. Congratulations and great job all three!!!


August 2013: Emma, Junior from East High School, has been selected to work in our lab as part of the Summer High School Internship program mentored by Prof. Kidambi and Olivia. She did amazing work in the span of 5 weeks and presented her poster in the UNL Research Symposium.


July 2013: Prof. Kidambi attended and presented a poster in the Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering GRC meeting.

May 2013: Olivia Lambdin successfully graduated with B.S. in Biosystems Engineering and will start her PhD program in Bioengineering at U California, Berkeley this Fall. Congratulations!


May 2013: Prof. Kidambi’s project in collaboration with Dr. Band, UNMC has been awarded NSF-MRSEC Seed Grant. Congratulations!


April 2013: Allison Drain presented her work in Mid America Regional Conference held at the University of Oklahoma and came in First. She will be presenting her work in the 2013 Annual AIChE Meeting at San Francisco for the National Competition. Congratulations!


March 2013: Prof. Kidambi was invited to give a talk at the Center for Nanohybrid Functional Materials (CNFM) Seminar Series


October 2012: Prof. Kidambi chaired Biomaterials session in the Annual AIChE meeting held at Pittsburgh, PA. Amita and Allison gave amazing talks as well and received enormous interest in their work. Good job Amita and Allison.

Amita received her Ph.D. in Life Sciences from Jawaharlal Nehru University and worked as a postdoc at Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and University of Nebraska-Medical Center prior to joining the group. May 2011: Akshat Saraf’s proposal titled “Effect of Omega-3 Fatty Acid on Liver Function in Space” was selected as one of the finalist for the Student Spaceflight Experiments Program from 530 proposals.
