Scholarships

The department offers a generous selection of scholarships. There are several annual awards, mostly for upper-class students, but some awards for first-year students are available. These include:

  • The Peter Kiewit Engineering Alumni Scholarship
  • The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Scholarship
  • The Nebraska Sand, Gravel, and Ready-Mixed Concrete Association Annual Design Competition Scholarship
  • The Louis Pentzien Memorial Scholarship
  • The Walter Scott Scholarship
  • The ConAgra/Richard W. Ryan Memorial Scholarship
  • Specific award programs by the American Society of Professional Estimators
  • The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC)
  • The American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE)
  • The Construction Specifications Institute (CSI)
  • The Construction Systems Technology Departmental Alumni Endowment

Application and award of these merit scholarships is varied, but most are handled through a general application procedure through our college's dean's office in Omaha. In addition, there are typical need based scholarship programs which are handled through the UNO Office of Financial Aid, which also has an array of campus-wide merit scholarships.
