Electrical Engineering

A Department of the College of Engineering

Course Objectives

For ELEC 307
Electrical Engineering Laboratory I

The objectives for this course are for the students to:

  • implement digital networks with programmable logic devices (PLDs);
  • design, build and test synchronous finite state machines (FSMs);
  • utilize Analog-to-Digital and Digital-to-Analog circuitry;
  • demonstrate the ability to interface a microcontroller with external components and signals;
  • exhibit competence using a logic analyzer;
  • conduct open-ended design experiments chosen from a range of electrical engineering areas;
  • work on teams, keep laboratory notebooks, write design project reports, and give oral presentations of their design projects; and describe any standards used in their projects and discuss how their engineering designs impact society.
