College ranks 12th among best online graduate engineering programs

With its Master of Engineering Management program leading the way, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Engineering is ranked 12th in the U.S. News & World Report’s 2016 rankings of the best Graduate Engineering Programs.

“We are placing an increased emphasis on offering an MEM degree of high value to working professionals,” said Tim Wei, dean of the College of Engineering. “The rankings are a positive indicator that these efforts are being recognized."

The engineering online program moved up 22 places from 2015 and 29 from its debut on the list two years ago. It is the highest-ranked of four UNL online programs that are included in the rankings, which were released Tuesday.

The other UNL programs listed in the rankings include:

* No. 14 in Graduate Education Programs for programs that include family and consumer science education, educational administration, special education and German language education.

* No 15 among the Best Online Graduate MBA Programs for a master of business administration program.

* No. 86 among the Best Online Undergraduate Programs for its bachelor of applied science program.

These programs are among the more than 100 degree, certificate and endorsement online programs offered by the four campuses of the University of Nebraska system.
