Event Highlights Benefits of Grad Degrees in Industrial Engineering

The student chapter of the Institute of Industrial Engineers is hosting a research fair for undergraduates to learn about research and graduate school opportunities in industrial and management systems engineering at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln
The event will be Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007, from 3-5 p.m. in W213.3 Nebraska Hall. Students studying engineering, math, physics and business are encouraged to attend. Underclassmen interested in doing a UCARE project with IMSE faculty or considering graduate school also should attend, as many faculty members are looking for students to assist with their research.
These research areas will be showcased:- ergonomics
- management
- nontraditional manufacturing
- operations research
- packaging
- RFID
- safety
Participants will be able to interact with faculty and graduate students and learn about research and technology used in the field. Food will be served at the end of the event.

N.U.B.E. Camp
Aug. 20 - Aug. 21:
N.U.B.E. camp is an overnight retreat that gives new engineering students a head start in their transition to college. The camp will give incoming first-year students the opportunity to meet fellow classmates, faculty, and staff. There will be a variety of social activities, interactive team building, and important information.
