UNL announces new energy sciences minor


Energy is the currency of the future. Make it part of your expertise with the NEW MINOR IN ENERGY SCIENCES, starting in fall 2008. Dr. Ron Yoder, head of UNL's Department of Biological Systems Engineering, led the steering committee that developed the minor. Faculty Accomplishments


  • Henk Viljoen, professor of chemical and biomolecular engineering, has received the Commemorative Research Medal from the University of Pretoria, South Africa. Viljoen earned his three degrees from UP, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.
  • Yongfeng Lu, professor of electrical engineering, has been elected to the Fellows of the SPIE, an international society advancing an interdisciplinary approach to the science and application of light.

N.U.B.E. Camp
Aug. 20 - Aug. 21:

N.U.B.E. camp is an overnight retreat that gives new engineering students a head start in their transition to college. The camp will give incoming first-year students the opportunity to meet fellow classmates, faculty, and staff. There will be a variety of social activities, interactive team building, and important information.
