Student Organization Leadership Development

Student organizations are an important part of the Nebraska Engineering experience. They give engineering students a platform to apply the concepts learned inside of the classroom in a real-world setting. As a member of a registered engineering student organization, you have access to an exclusive leadership development coaching service that can help make your organization great.

If any of these topics are relevant to your student organization and membership, schedule a session with Jennifer Skidmore at jenskidmore@unl.edu.

By taking advantage of this service, you will…

Do the current members of your organization seem unmotivated to be more active in your group? Have you thought about why?

By taking advantage of this session you will have the opportunity to:
  • Discover ways to motivate and engage your members to remind them why they joined your organization.
  • Develop a sense of community in your organization and retain more of your current members for the next academic year.
  • And more!
4) Make your programs great
Your programs are important for recruiting new members, retaining current members, and making an impact in the field. You need your programs to be great, not good, and reflect positively on your organization.

  • Learn about the resources and techniques to plan and market a more impactful program.
  • Have your organization gain greater exposure on campus through your successful events.
  • And more!

Is the leadership team of your organization working together to meet common goals? Are your student leaders aware of each other’s strengths and how to best use them strategically for the success of your student group?

By taking advantage of this session you will have the opportunity to:
  • Assess each leader’s skills and strengths and learn how to utilize them effectively to achieve the goals of the organization.
