Durham school begins new chapter of AEI

The Charles W. Durham School of Architectural Engineering and Construction, part of the UNL College of Engineering, launched a chapter of the Architectural Engineering Institute (AEI). Nearly 100 participants attended the initial meeting on September 28 at the Peter Kiewit Institute in Omaha.

AEI Fellow Clarence Waters, Ph.D., director of DSAEC’s architectural engineering program, welcomed students, alumni and faculty to the gathering. The meeting included a tour of the Zero Net Energy Test House that Durham students and faculty are building in the neighborhood near PKI.

AEI is part of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). AEI members include engineers and architects involved in the construction, structural, electrical, and mechanical engineering of buildings. Students in architectural engineering programs can become members of AEI to take advantage of the group's networking opportunities.
