Roger WoznyAfter graduating from Creighton University, Roger was commissioned as a U.S. Army Signal Officer and served as a communications-electronics maintenance analyst at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland.  He received the Army Commendation Medal and an Army suggestion award for development of a computerized electronics support listing.  He is a registered professional electrical engineer in 22 states.  His design engineering experience includes major electrical power distribution for commercial and industrial facilities, 161-kilovolt substation switchyard and control and specialized lighting applications.  Several of his lighting designs have received the Illuminating Engineering Society's Edwin F. Guth Award of merit for design excellence.  
             
Major project planning and programming experience includes project management of Aircraft Corrosion Control Facilities at Iowa Air National Guard; Aircraft Administrative Maintenance Support Facilities, Phase II, Offutt Air Force Base; Missile Alert Facilities, F.E. Warren AFB; Non-Appropriated Fund Lodging Studies 102 Posts, U.S. Army Community and Family Support Center; Correction of Electrical and Fire Safety Deficiencies, Veterans Administration Medical Centers; and Child Development Centers, U.S. Air Force Academy, Peterson AFB and Buckley AFB.

Roger has been very active in the Society of American Military Engineers, beginning as junior vice president of the Omaha Post.  He has since served as Omaha Post president, two-term Missouri River Regional vice president, National Senior Executive Group, two-term national director, three-term national vice president, first national vice president and co-Chair of the SAME Diamond Anniversary National Conference.  He is past national president of SAME and most recently was chair of the National SAME Academy of Fellows.  He has received many awards in recognition of service to SAME, including the Missouri River Region Gold Award, National Award of Appreciation and the President's Medal.  In 2006, he received SAME's highest award, the National W.O. Bachus Gold Medal for continuous and conspicuous service over lifetime membership.  He is a member representative to the American Council of Engineering Companies/Nebraska and a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers.
 
In addition to his service to SAME, he served on the Iowa Western Community College's Civil Engineering Technology Advisory Board for 25 years, and has held several offices, including president of the Cornhusker Section Illuminating Engineering Society.  Roger currently serves as a member Emeriti of the University of Nebraska Architectural Engineering Industry Advisory Committee and served two years as its chair during the National Accreditation Board for Engineering & Technology Certification.  Related civic and community service include the Executive Council of the Boy Scouts of America, the YMCA Board of Directors, National Easter Seal Society Board of Directors and past-president, Nebraska Easter Seal Society Board of Directors.
