Welcome to The Durham School of Architectural Engineering and Construction. We’re the only school within the UNL College of Engineering, and offer programs in Architectural Engineering, Construction Engineering and Construction Management. Our programs are located both on the UNL City Campus in Lincoln and at The Peter Kiewit Institute in Omaha.
Having these three programs interconnected allows our students to learn from faculty with diverse areas of expertise, as well as interact with industry professionals throughout the area.
Architectural Engineering
Architectural Engineering (AE) focuses on the design, integration and coordination of building engineering systems, including structural systems; heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems; acoustical systems; and lighting and electrical systems.
Construction Engineering
The Construction Engineering program (CONE) offers academic preparation leading to professional careers in technical environments that involve the delivery of constructed facilities—including buildings, transportation systems, industrial systems and energy-related construction projects.
Construction Management
Construction is the largest and most diversified industry in the nation. The key professionals in this vast enterprise are construction managers: industry leaders who plan, schedule and build projects designed by architects and engineers. The Construction Management program (CNST) is offered in Lincoln and Omaha; the program allows students to take classes on either or both campuses.
