Promotion & Tenure Committee Schedule

May-August Identification of candidates for promotion and tenure for the 2013-14 academic year and the election of unit representatives to the College of Engineering Promotion and Tenure Committee.
May-August Department chairs, Departmental P&T Committee, and candidate should collaborate to determine a roster of letter writers.
August 19 All external reviewers selected and notified.
August 28 Candidate’s portion of P&T document submitted to the Unit P&T Committee.
September 27 All external review letters received.
October 4 College of Engineering Promotion and Tenure Committee organizational meeting, 114 OTHM, 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm (Tentative day and time).
October 28 Unit P&T Committee recommendations including reconsideration, if applicable, completed.
November 13 Unit administrator recommendations including reconsideration, if applicable, completed. Promotion and tenure material from the unit is due in the Dean’s office. All physical and electronic items prescribed in the current “CoE P&T Documents Guidelines” file must be submitted by this date. Cases not submitted fully by 5 p.m. this date might not be considered at the discretion of the CoE P&T Committee. File is reviewed by COE Dean’s office for completeness.
December 9 Candidate files made available to COE P&T Committee.
January 10, 2014 College of Engineering Promotion and Tenure Committee recommendation meeting for all cases, 114 OTHM, 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (lunch to be served).
January 17 College of Engineering Promotion and Tenure Committee recommendation meeting for all cases involving reconsideration (if necessary), 114 OTHM, 9 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. (lunch to be served).
January 24 College of Engineering Promotion and Tenure Committee backup meeting (if necessary) for situations preventing the previous two meetings (e.g., weather), 114 OTHM, 9 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. (lunch to be served).
January 31 Promotion cases and other cases involving tenure due in the Senior Vice Chancellor’s office with Dean’s recommendation.
February 28 Promotion (not involving tenure) cases due in the Senior Vice Chancellor’s office with Dean’s recommendation.
