Life in Engineering: Dr Christopher Tuan

Engineering is every second of the day you touch. It’s related to people’s daily life and without engineering, everybody would still be in the dark ages.

Dr. Christopher Tuan    Professor of Civil Engineering

Dr. Christopher Tuan
Professor of Civil Engineering

Christopher Tuan always wanted to be involved in a profession that would benefit mankind. He took an interest in civil engineering because of its range of disciplines, all benefiting human society and development. His research focuses on developing an electrical concrete mix, which people driving in icy roads will definitely appreciate. His project works to de-ice roads, bridges and other infrastructure to help save lives.

All of his students are involved in some aspects of this work. He finds being a professor to be very rewarding, especially seeing students go on to find success, whether it’s working at a top engineering firm or starting their own business.
