The Power & Energy Systems Laboratory (PESL) at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) was established in Fall 2008. Our research aims to develop innovative technologies to provide better electric energy security and sustainability. To achieve this goal we carry out leading-edge research in the areas of clean and renewable energy systems, emerging electrical energy conversion devices, smart grids, microgrids, power system control and optimization, condition monitoring, fault diagnostics and prognostics, energy storage systems, power electronics, and electric machines and drives.
