Beverly Seay is the Executive Director for the Nebraska Applied Research Institute (NARI), specializing in applied research in cyber physical systems, data science, and modeling, simulation and visualization. She is a corporate leader, mentor, and technical visionary and has served and led government, industry and academic boards throughout the country. Throughout her career with SAIC, she pioneered the enterprise-wide Modeling and Simulation Center of Excellence and led the innovation of key pioneering approaches in systems engineering, modeling and simulation, and the delivery of complex, composable software and hardware systems. 

With over 40 years of professional experience, her efforts contributed to the foundation and standards that enabled the Modeling & Simulation community to grow into the vibrant and integrated ecosystem it is today.  Her work on building partnerships with government, academia, and industry has expanded the use of simulation in new markets to include healthcare, emergency management, tourism, and cybersecurity.

Mrs. Seay’s current University Board memberships include the Board of Trustees at the University of Central Florida, Chair of the University of Central Florida’s Engineering and Computer Science Dean’s Advisory Board and Chair of the Georgia Tech College of Computing Advisory Board. Mrs. Seay is also a member of the Association of Governing Boards (AGB), the Florida for Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) Executive Advisory Group, and the Florida High Tech Corridor Council. She chairs the annual Florida Simulation Summit and will be inducted into the Modeling and Simulation Hall of Fame in June, 2017.

Mrs. Seay holds a Master of Science degree in Computers, Information and Control Engineering and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Michigan.
