Parents: Omaha Opportunities

The College of Engineering provides specific services for its students with an on-site career specialist, as well as partnering with the university's extensive career services office. Our students have access to UNO, PKI and UNL Career Services. Students in Omaha are also welcome to attend a variety of career fairs in Lincoln and Omaha, such as the UNL Engineering Career Fair, UNO Career Fair and The Durham School Career Fair.

Study Abroad / Travel
It is important for our students to be part of a global environment. Our students are highly encouraged to participate in at least one travel experience during their time at UNL.

  • Engineering Learning Community Trip: Each year, the college plans a learning community trip during Spring Break, primarily for new students. The trip is open first to Engineering Learning Community students in Lincoln, with spots saved for new students on the Omaha campus as well. They meet and network with successful alumni, visit major companies, and have time for sightseeing and fun. Past trips have been to Phoenix, Chicago, Houston, San Diego, Atlanta and the North Carolina Research Triangle. The cost is very affordable.

Transitioning to Nebraska Engineering

N.U.B.E. Camp: The transition to college can be challenging, and we want your student to succeed from the first day. Our N.U.B.E. Camp provides the opportunity to meet with other new students, along with current students and faculty and staff. The camp is held prior to the start of the academic year.
