"Robotics at UNL" to celebrate robots and research

Robots come in all shapes and sizes and are being used in almost every aspect of human culture.

In conjunction with National Robotics Week, the UNL Computer Science and Engineering Department and the NIMBUS Lab are hosting “Robotics at UNL”, Thursday, April 7 from 1-5 p.m. Come see the many types of robots and research in robotics happening in UNL’s College of Engineering.

Flying robots (UAVs, drones) and teleoperated robots will be on display in 233 Schorr Center for Computer Science and Engineering.

Medical robots will be in 360 Scott Engineering Center.

Medical and modular robots will be in 359 Scott Engineering Center.

National Robotics Week events are happing across the U.S. this week. The purposes of National Robotics Week are to:

  • Celebrate the U.S. as a leader in robotics technology development;


  • Educate the public about how robotics technology impacts society, both now and in the future;


  • Advocate for increased funding for robotics technology research and development; and


  • Inspire students of all ages to pursue careers in robotics and other science, technology, engineering and math-related fields.
