Don Voelte, a 1975 civil engineering graduate, will be hosted by the College of Engineering as one of 10 outstanding UNL alumni who will take part in the university’s celebration of the 50th anniversary of Alumni Masters Week Nov. 19-21.

Voelte is managing director and CEO of Seven Group Holdings, deputy chairman of Seven West Media and chairman of Nexus Energy and has 38 years of experience in the global oil and gas industry. Before retiring in June 2011, Voelte was managing director and CEO of Woodside Petroleum.

He is a University of Nebraska Foundation trustee, and in 2012 was appointed an honorary officer within the general division of the Order of Australia.

Alumni Masters Week – sponsored by the Nebraska Alumni Association, Scarlet Guard and the Chancellor's Office – will feature campus visits by 10 outstanding alumni.

The public is invited to meet the alumni masters and hear their perspectives on success during a panel discussion from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 19 at the Nebraska Champions Club, 707 Stadium Drive.

In addition, 56 past alumni masters will be on hand for the celebration.

Since 1964, 400 alumni have participated in Alumni Masters Week. Its primary goal has always been to link the university's outstanding alumni with students who can benefit from their experiences and knowledge. All students are encouraged to take part in lectures, presentations and events with the alumni masters, who will speak about ways to apply formal education to working situations and career goals.
