Graduate Students

The Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln offers the following graduate programs on both campuses of the university in Lincoln and Omaha. For the graduate degree programs in Civil Engineering, students can specialize in Environmental Engineering, Geotechnical and Materials Engineering, Structural Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or Water Resources Engineering.

The Master of Science (M.S.) degree requires completion of 30 to 36 credits of coursework depending on the option chosen.

The department offers a dual master's degree in Civil Engineering and Community and Regional planning in collaboration with the College of Architecture. Learn more on the College of Architecture's site.

The Master of Science in Environmental Engineering (M.S. EnvE) program is a multi-disciplinary, interdepartmental program jointly administered by the Departments of Civil Engineering and Biological Systems Engineering.
