The blue permit is the mid-level permit. It is a good alternative to the red permit for students who do not wish to complete the additional training on the mills and lathes but still need access to machines like drill presses, cutoff saws, and band saws.

Instructions:
Please email Design & Fabrication (coedfl@unl.edu) requesting that you be added to the canvas registration. You will need to include your name, NU ID and email address.

Requirements:
Obtain faculty supervisor authorization, complete competency quizzes on Canvas; Sign and date authorization and waiver forms then submit both forms to the Design and Fabrication Laboratory Supervisor on duty or to Engineering Shop personnel in room 118 SEC.

Blue Permit Privileges:
  • Checkout tools and equipment
  • Use everything in the shop except the lathes and mills (which requires a Red permit) or equipment that requires an upgrade.
