He served as EVP of
Atlantic Richfield Co.
(ARCO), as well as a Director of Vastar Inc, ARCO
Chemical Company and Lyondell Chemical Inc.
Voelte worked for Mobil Corporation for 22 years,
as an EVP of Mobil Corporation and president of
Mobil’s New Exploration and Producing Ventures
and Global Exploration; VP/GM of U.S. Marketing
and Supply/Logistics of Mobil Corporation. He
also was GM of Corporate Planning and Planning
Manager for U.S. Exploration and Producing at Mobil
Corporation. Voelte started as a structural engineer
at Mobil in 1975.
He was a member of the SPE, the ASCE, and the
Chi Epsilon Honor Society. He is a Trustee of the
University of Nebraska Foundation and serves on its
Board of Directors. He was a UNL Master in 2013. In
2012, Australia appointed Don an honorary Officer
(AO) within the general division of the Order of
Australia for services to the Australian LNG industry
and philanthropic contribution to arts and education.
Voelte and his wife, Nancy Keegan, operate a private
foundation focused on education. In 2012, UNL
named its new Nanotechnology and Metrology
Research Center for Don and Nancy.
