For the past three years, I have been working as a Structural Engineering Intern at Enterprise Properties, the parent company of Enterprise Precast Concrete and American Concrete Products. Through my time here, I have had the opportunity to learn about and work on a wide variety of projects such as underground electrical vaults, box girders, railroad bridges, and architectural precast concrete wall panels for project types including hospitals, office buildings, and apartment buildings.

In my previous summers here, I worked to detail connections and precast concrete components for various project types. However, this summer, I had the opportunity to step into the engineering side of things and worked on the analysis and design of connections and precast wall panels for an apartment building in Kansas City as well as a medical clinic in Missouri. Throughout my entire time here, the opportunity to learn has been outstanding and that opportunity only increased this past summer. One of my biggest takeaways was that school by no means teaches you everything, but that it only provides you the stepping stones to continue your learning in the work place.
