This summer I worked with CMTA in Houston, Texas as a Mechanical Design Intern. I learned several new skills and strategies for tackling different types of projects while also improving on some of the skills covered throughout the Architectural Engineering curriculum. On most of the projects I worked on, I worked closely with different mechanical design engineers in the office. I was also provided with the opportunity to take a more involved role in some projects such as a cooling tower replacement for CE King Middle School in the Sheldon ISD and natural ventilation research and analysis for the Galveston Bay Foundation.
My experiences working with CMTA, not only provided me with new and improved knowledge of important design programs like Revit and Trace 700, but also with a much more in depth understanding of the design process and how to approach different challenges in the HVAC design industry. I am very grateful for the opportunity to spend my summer with the CMTA Houston office, and look forward to using this new experience and knowledge in my future endeavors.
