This summer I have been working at Alvine Engineering as an Electrical Intern in Omaha, Nebraska. This internship has provided me with opportunities to expand my technical knowledge and gain real world experience in the AE industry. Throughout the internship I have assisted in various projects in many sectors including Education, Healthcare, High Rise, Office Buildings, and Retail. Most of the tasks I spent my time on were lighting related. I assisted in the lighting design of the new Jerry Ryan clothing store.
This project was fun because I was able to pick out some interesting fixtures and put together a model in Agi32. What I learned using Agi32 on the Jerry Ryan project helped me become more efficient when I moved on to some Papillion Lavista school projects. I also enjoyed working on a few First National Bank renovation projects whereI put together lighting layouts and produced some renderings in 3DS max. My team worked on a lot of local projects, so I was able to go with them to complete the punch list at various stages of completion. Going along and seeing engineering in the field was definitely the highlight of my internship.
