Major: Construction Management
August 3, 2021

This summer I worked as an engineering intern for Kiewit Infrastructure group In Omaha, Nebraska. I specifically have been working on the Omaha Riverfront Revitalization on the Heartland of America and Lewis and Clark Landing parks.

The internship has helped me improve on specific skills to give myself a better understanding of how to manage a construction project. I worked along side Project managers, Superintendents, and many engineers on a day to day basis to learn and help complete any task at hand. This internship was a great experience for me, but the highlight of the summer was being able to create the submittal schedule for the whole project by coordinating roles for employees and running meetings for the company to be able to submit this form on time. I used many skills I learned within the classroom to help me complete the task I was assigned each day and use the presentation skills to give my final presentation in front of Kiewit management at the end of my time here.

I was fortunate enough to meet a lot of great people that help me grow in my education and to help keep myself learning for the future.

  • Quantity take offs
  • Reviewed and completed submittals
  • Completing survey shots
