This summer, I interned with Interstates Construction as a Project Coordinator in Omaha, NE. This was my first internship, which was exciting to experience and taught me a lot about Project Management and electrical contracting. I worked on multiple projects alongside many Supervisors and Project Managers. The projects I was assigned to were Biorefinery Plants and Commercial Warehouse Projects. The most exciting part of my internship was being able to work on these massive sites which have dozens of contractors working simultaneously.
Besides these projects, I was able to experience a great deal of the planning phase for projects as our scope of the project does not begin until the fall. This helped me greatly to understand what goes into beginning a project and the work it takes to get workers in the field. I am excited to see how I perform this next school year after being able to apply what I have already learned to a real position.
