Twenty-eight high school STEM teachers from across the state of Nebraska attended the Chemical Engineering Secondary Education STEM Workshop on June 28.

The workshop, hosted by the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and facilitated by faculty, helped to provide insight into approaches to chemical engineering problems and how math and science are used to solve them.

The attending educators received resources and activities that can easily be incorporated into existing curriculum to demonstrate how math, chemistry and physics are used to analyze and solve engineering problems. They also learned how chemical engineers are working to solve some of the greatest challenges facing our society today.
