Jerry Hudgins to receive IEEE's IAS Distinguished Service Award

Jerry Hudgins, chair and professor of electrical and computer engineering, has been selected to receive the 2018 IEES IAS Distinguished Service Award.
Jerry Hudgins, chair and professor of electrical and computer engineering, has been selected to receive the 2018 IEES IAS Distinguished Service Award.

Jerry Hudgins, chair and professor of electrical and computer engineering, has been chosen to receive the IEEE Industrial Applications Society’s 2018 Distinguished Service Award at the 2018 IAS Annual Meeting/ECCE, which will be held Sept. 23-27 in Portland, Oregon.

Hudgins has served the IEEE in various capacities, including being on the Board of Directors as treasurer (currently) and as Division II director (2013-14), was president of the IAS (2003) and also serving on numerous committees.

This prestigious award recognizes exceptional administrative, managerial and leadership achievement; proposal and/or implementation of innovative new Society Programs; dedication to the growth and advancement of the Society and/or its geographic and technical entities.
