Jian Wang chosen as one of Materials Today 2018 Rising Stars

Jian Wang, associate professor of mechanical and materials engineering, was selected to receive the Materials Today 2018 Rising Star Award in the Materials Genome division. The awards will be presented at Rice University in Houston, Texas, Sept. 27-28.

According to the Materials Today website, the Rising Star Awards are "open to candidates within 15 years of completing their Ph.D. who have demonstrated themselves to be the most exceptionally capable researchers with the potential to become future leaders in the field: as such the criteria to be assessed will include the impact of the research the candidate has conducted and the contributions the candidate has made to the materials community, including but not limited to the candidate’s published research, as judged by the award panel."
