Graduate Work at Nebraska: Lily Wang

When I recruit students to come work with me and they are wondering ‘why Nebraska?’, I tell them that some of the areas our faculty specialize in are only offered in Nebraska.

As a professor of architectural engineering, Lily Wang’s primary research interest is in acoustics. While she did not initially expect to enter this particular field, she finds the work to be impactful and exciting. “I’m very pleased to do this work rather than the original dream of being a nightclub singer or designing one concert hall.”

She also serves as associate dean of the college’s graduate programs and faculty development. Her priority is to make sure Nebraska is an inviting and rewarding place for engineering graduate students from all over the world. “If you were to come visit Nebraska and meet with some of our current graduate students… You would be surprised at the amazing experiences that they’ve had here.”
