    The Value of Internships: Riley

I chose Nebraska Engineering because it gives me the opportunity to study something I’m passionate about and will enjoy in the future.

Riley Johnson
Major: Architectural Engineering

Riley figured out something very early on as a Nebraska Engineering student: the value of industry internships to further enhance his learning experience. He first interned at Studio 951, an architecture firm in Lincoln, and is now an electrical engineering intern with HDR, Inc., in Omaha.

Both internships have allowed him to develop new strengths and help determine what areas he wants to pursue once he graduates. He also believes in being involved on campus – in his case with a fraternity, student government and several engineering organizations, to “help develop teamwork and leadership skills.”
