Friday the 13th was a lucky day for future engineers visiting UNL's annual E-Week Open House.

School groups of future engineers, plus alumni and current students' families enjoyed

  • senior project displays
  • egg drop, wind turbine and bridge building activities
  • treats, including ice cream made by chemical engineers
  • guest speaker Pete Ludovice, the "engineering comedian" and a professor with Georgia Tech.

E-Week 2012 co-chairs Catheryn Amenta and Rachel Remund (both seniors who major in Biological Systems Engineering) welcomed Open House guests, culminating a week of internal events for the Nebraska Engineering student community. This year's E-Week theme was "Bold Visions, Big Ideas, Bright Futures." The 2013 Open House will be the centennial year for the college's annual celebration.
