P3 - 2019 Project Overviews

Projects partially funded by a grant from the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality’s Waste Reduction Fee Fund:

  1. Victoria Burbridge - Soil Dynamics
    Analyzed data to make recommendations to decrease solid waste production and increase use of compost.

  2. Alex Riensche - Norland International
    Analyzed energy consumption and waste production. Made recommendations to reduce the waste in the production process and energy usage.

  3. Brandon Yost - Midwest Renewable Energy
    Analyzed energy consumption and process data. Made recommendations to reduce the waste in the production process and energy usage.



Projects partially funded by grants from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency:

  1. Andrew Hansen - Smithfield Foods
    Evaluated energy and water usage. Made recommendations to improve process efficiency and energy efficiency.

  2. Nathan Kreutzer - McCain Foods
    Analyzed data related to the processing of onions on the production line and related to energy and water use. Made recommendations on increasing the production output, improving energy efficiency, and reducing water pollution.

  3. Arsen Slonsky - WholeStone Farms
    Analyzed energy and water usage. Made recommendations to reduce costs associated with energy and water usage.
