Tell us more about your plans:
Parker plans to work for USDA-NRCS as a field engineer. He will be using engineering judgment to implement certain site specific conservation practices in the state of Nebraska. He will also be putting together engineering plans and specifications for these conservation practices. His plan is to use this to help water quality, soil quality, erosion control, and overall conservation efforts in the state of Nebraska.

Who/What has inspired you during your college career?
Parker originally started out as an Architectural Engineer. Going back home and working on the farm through his first year of college made him realize that he wanted to stick closer to his roots in agriculture, therefore he changed his major to Agricultural Engineering. He then obtained an internship with the NRCS, where he plans to work for after graduation. This gave him a really good understanding of the conservation efforts in Nebraska. It also brought to light the need for conservation efforts in the state of Nebraska. Everyone try's to plan for our future generations and these conservation efforts allow him to do that, and that is something he is proud of.

The best thing about being a Husker is...
There are so many great things about being a Husker from game day to all the opportunities that the University has to offer. However, the best thing would be the community. The community you can build here is amazing. In Ag Engineering, where there are not many people to begin with, you can build a solid community of people to help you succeed. This allows you to emphasize or branch out in what ever you want and still be surrounded with great people you have come to know and trust.
