Piling has begun on the City Campus site for the new $97 million Kiewit Hall to help ensure a sturdier base for the project.

Progress on Phase 1 continues as construction of the exterior of the new facility takes shape with glass windows being installed along the west side of the building along 16th Street. Additional work on the new Link includes painting to interior rooms, fire alarm installations to the first and second levels, and the arrival of light fixtures to be installed later this spring.

Additional projects include new ADA entries to the north side of Nebraska Hall and the remaining steel needed to complete the bridge connecting Nebraska Hall to the new Link. A construction fence has been installed for Kiewit Hall at the corner of 17th and Vine Streets, which includes the permanent closure of the parking lot at 17th and Vine Streets as well as the permanent closure of 17th Street from Vine Street north to X Street.

More construction updates are available online, including live views of the ongoing Link/SEC construction and renovation. Videos of the August 2020 Topping Off Ceremony as well as a virtual tour of Phase 1 are also available at the Construction Central web site.
