SSbio - Opportunities

Systems and Synthetic Biology Lab is looking for motivated graduate and undergraduate students for several research projects, including

  • Genome-scale metabolic model development of Methylobacter and Methylomonas
  • Identifying genetic intervention strategies for succinate overproduction from corn stover using Actinobacillus succinogenes genome-scale metabolic model
  • Analyzing transcriptomic data on Heat stress in rice plants and creating a next-generation whole-plant scale rice model

The projects will address questions regarding the ecological and functional characteristics of natural microbes and inter-tissue interaction in plants using comprehensive mathematical models and 'omics'-based data analysis.

Interested students are rquested to email Professor Saha.
