Wellness Week: Reflection

Daily Reflection:

Before we can set a new path and achieve our goals, we must understand ourselves and what has happened to make us the person we are currently. There are many mediums through which we can plum our depths, journaling, meditating, conversation, etc. With whichever means you prefer, or all of them if you want to put in the work, reflect on the prompts below and learn more about yourself. You will also have an opportunity to set goals if you want to make changes in your life.

  • Day 1- Reflect on where you were a year ago, and what has changed, for better or worse. After reflecting take a moment and set goals for a year in the future. If a year seems daunting, set a goal for a month from now, or a week, or for today.
  • Day 2- Think about ways that you have failed in the past. What was the cause of the failure, internal factors or external influences? Failing is human and important. Determine how you want to grow from these failures and make specific goals to do so.
  • Day 3- What are your strengths and weaknesses? We all have them, whether we hide them or flaunt them. Are there ways that you can supplement yourself to balance a weakness? Is there a way to use your strengths to benefit your team? Plan to help and be helped by the people around you.
  • Day 4- Who is the person or people that come to mind when you think of your support system? What makes these people special from the others you know? Or did you come up short on people to think of? Seek to create a stronger support system by connecting with new people or deepening relationships you already have.
  • Day 5- Everyone is influenced constantly from all directions. What influences you day to day? Look for the good and the bad, what are the sources, and what are the messages that you are receiving? Did you like what you determined? Make a plan to increase the positive influences and silence the negative.

The way each of these sections is set up is that they can be done week after week. I hope that at the end of Wellness Week these sections will help you implement long-term change and set goals to move toward Living Well. Additionally, each of the sections and daily tips can help you set a goal for our Wellness Challenge that is now live!
