The Summer Bridge Program is a two-week on-campus learning camp to prepare College of Engineering incoming freshmen for their college career in a supportive hands-on environment. Especially, you will receive in-depth instruction in math for added confidence once classes begin in the Fall.
Where / When:
- Omaha (Scott Campus): July 5-15
- Lincoln (City Campus): July 16-29
What:
Here's what to expect from the Summer Bridge Program experience:- Prep for rigorous math courses on a daily basis (Pre-Calculus or Calculus) and improve writing skills with individual guidance
- Gain assistance with courses such as chemistry and computer science
- Enjoy hands-on project activities including robotics
- Attend a daily orientation to aid in your transition from high school to college: time management, study skills, campus resources and support services, connections to industry
- Free with a potential $500 scholarship for students finishing the program.
Who is eligible:
First-time, first-year students admitted to the College of Engineering who are planning on taking Calculus I or College Algebra & Trigonometry in Fall 2023. Preference is given to anyone meeting one or more of the following:- Nebraska resident
- First generation student (parents/guardians do not have a college degree)
- Underrepresented minority
- Rural area resident
- Demonstrated financial need (Pell eligible)
Application Process
- Application deadline: May 15, 2023
- Successful applicants will be notified on Friday, May 26, 2023.
- $100 deposit is required for successful applicants - due June 9, 2023. The deposit is refunded at the completion of the program.
