Outside of school and work, her family (spread over three continents) and travel keep her busy. Her love for travel was sparked in her childhood by her family’s constant moves around Zimbabwe due to her father’s work. While still in grade school, she got to see one of the seven natural wonders of the world, the Victoria Falls (Mosi-oa-Tunya in the local language) meaning “The Smoke That Thunders.” She also saw Kariba Dam which then, was the largest man-made reservoir in the world (by storage capacity). Her family also made a trip to Botswana when she was in 5th grade, and she decided at that point to see as much of the world as she could. She loves learning and sharing about similarities and differences in cultures, especially around food and will gladly share recipes she has picked up over the years.
Top on her list by region is the Caribbean – Belize, Jamaica, Trinidad and Barbados. Colombia, Guyana and Uruguay in South America. Italy, Greece, The Netherlands, Turkey, Croatia and Spain in Europe. The Middle East - Jordan, Israel, Lebanon and Bahrain. Thailand, India, Maldives, Japan and South Korea in South and East Asia. Namibia, Egypt, Morocco, Rwanda, Seychelles, Kenya and Tanzania in Africa.

My Background
Trish is a Global Experiences Coordinator and the liaison to the College of Engineering. She initially joined the Global Experiences team in September 2022 as an intern. Originally from Harare Zimbabwe, she moved to Nebraska for graduate school in 2021. She received a Master of Arts Degree in Educational Administration with a Student Affairs specialization from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln in May 2023. She considers herself a lifelong learner and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in General Management, Marketing and Entrepreneurship as well as a Technical and Vocational Education Diploma, both from Zimbabwe.Outside of school and work, her family (spread over three continents) and travel keep her busy. My Study/Work Abroad
Trish's graduate school experience at UNL was her study abroad experience and she had such a great time that her wish is for every student to have at least one study abroad experience! Working in Zimbabwe as a Computer Studies instructor for many years from Pre-K to tertiary level including at a Catholic Seminary was her work abroad experience and she is adding to that experience in this GEO role! To date, Trish has traveled to 16 US states and 10 countries and cannot wait to visit more!My Ideal Next Travel Destination
