Dr. Lijun Wang is an associate professor of biological engineering at NC A&T State University. He has 20 years’ experience as a process engineer working in the fields of bioenergy and energy efficiency technologies. He is one of three thrust leaders of the newly established interdisciplinary NSF CREST Bioenergy Center to lead the biomass gasification research. Dr. Wang’s research has been funded by NSF, DOE, USDA, DOD and the state of North Carolina. He regularly presents his research at academic meetings and publishes journal articles. He has published 2 books, 47 book chapters and 67 peer-reviewed journal articles, and given more than 70 conference presentations. He wrote the book of Energy Efficiency and Management in Food Processing Facilities, and edited the book of Sustainable Bioenergy Production, both of which were published by the CRC press of the Taylor and Francis Group in 2008 and 2014, respectively. Dr. Wang is teaching undergraduate and graduate-level courses in bioprocess engineering and advising graduate students in energy and environmental systems, computational engineering and nanoengineering. Dr. Wang has been regularly invited to attend proposal review panels in the fields of bioenergy and environmental sustainability for NSF, USDA and EPA. Dr. Wang has studied and worked in various universities in Asia, Europe and North America. He is a licensed professional engineer in North Carolina and Nebraska and certified energy manager with the Association of Energy Engineers. He is a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, and American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers.
