The following guidelines establish the expectations for seeking support from the Assessment and Data Analytics Team (ADAT) for creating, distributing, and/or analyzing the results from surveys. Requests made with less lead time than given below may not be completed within the desired time frame.
- To request assistance with a survey project, contact Dr. Markeya Peteranetz to set up a consultation.
- For new survey projects, contact the ADAT at least two weeks prior to the date when you would like to distribute your survey. The lead time will likely need to be longer for large, complex surveys or surveys taking place around busier times of the academic year.
- For existing or ongoing survey projects, contact the ADAT at least one week prior to the date when you would like to distribute your survey.
- Be prepared to discuss the following things that will be covered in your first consultation for a new survey project:
- The survey’s objective(s)
- Whether or not the survey will be used for research (all human-subjects research must receive IRB approval, which can take several months)
- The intended respondents
- The distribution method (anonymous link, direct email, QR code, hand-distributed paper forms, etc.)
- Topics to be covered by the questions/items
- Process for sourcing or writing questions/items
- Planned use of the data
- Expectations for report(s)
