NDT-CE - People

Dr. Jinying Zhu joined the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2014.  She obtained her PhD degree from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2006.  Her research interests focus on nondestructive sensing and evaluation technologies for civil infrastructure using linear and nonlinear ultrasonic waves, air-coupled sensors, and ground penetrating RADAR.  She emphasizes fundamental understanding of how stress waves interact with complex materials, e.g. concrete,  and also keeps applications in mind.   She is the receipient of 2012 ASNT Fellowship Award, and fours graduate students advised by Dr. Zhu has won ACI-James Instruments Award.  Dr. Zhu is the main inventor of air-coupled sensing technology for concrete structures. 

PhD graduate student Yalei Tang joined the NDT-CE lab in 2017 Fall. She holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Civil Engineering from Southwest Jiaotong University, China.

PhD graduate student, Ali joined the NDT-CE lab in 2021 Fall. He obtained his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Civil Engineering from Isfahan University of Technology, Iran.

PhD graduate student Clayton obtained BS and MS degrees from UNL. He returned to UNL to start PhD study in 2022.

PhD graduate student Jiuzhou joined the NDT-CE lab in 2022 Fall. He obtained his B.S. degree from Zhejiang University (China) and M.S. degree from University of Rhode Island, both in Ocean Engineering.

PhD graduate student Sajjad joined the NDT-CE lab in 2022 Fall. He obtained his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Civil Engineering from University of Guilan, Iran.

Visiting PhD student Shengyang Zeng joined the NDT-CE lab in 2022 Spring. He obtained his B.S. degree from Central South University, China.
