Abraham Osinuga

I am a first-year doctoral student in the Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering department at UNL and belong to the Systems and Synthetic biology (SSbio) concentration. I received a BS in chemical engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University in 2020. I have also researched at Smart Agriculture Innovation Center, Kyungpook National University, Republic of Korea. During my undergraduate studies, I assisted in research with the Process Systems Engineering (PSE) Laboratory.

The intersection of systems/control engineering and artificial intelligence (AI) is a powerful paradigm that has led to significant advances in optimal design and control of systems in a general sense. This has inspired my current interest in the role of modern engineering in solving leading bio/health-systems problems within the interdisciplinary fields of AI.

At SSbio Lab, I hope to develop comprehensive computational modelling and data integration platforms, robust and efficient in simulating the dynamic changes and response of human and animal systems (hosts) to infections (casual/agents). It will be interesting to know how modern engineering can significantly ease this burden of pathogenic (viral, bacterial, etc.) and non-pathogenic (cancers, etc.) infections.

In addition, I have interests and a background in computational research include using computer-assisted methods and models to design, control, and optimize process systems and research on optimization, design, and testing of algorithms.
