Bio:

SYED OWAIS ATHAR (Member, IEEE) was born in Quetta, Pakistan. He received B.S. in electronic engineering and M.S. with distinction in electrical engineering from the Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering & Management Sciences (BUITEMS), Quetta, Pakistan in 2012 and 2018, respectively. From 2012 to 2013 he served as an Assistant Technical Manager in AH Automation (Pvt.) Ltd., Islamabad. Later in 2015, he joined the Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering, and Management Sciences, Quetta as a Lecturer in the Department of Electronic Engineering and is currently on study leave for pursuing graduate studies. During his service, he supervised 31 undergraduate final-year research groups and 9 master’s theses. His research interests are converter design and control, industrial control and automation, and renewable energy technologies. He is currently enrolled as a Fulbright Ph.D. Scholar at College of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Nebraska Lincoln, NE, USA. He is a Registered Engineer at the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC). He is the President and Founder of SEEB – Society of Electronic Engineering BUITEMS and the advisor of the IEEE Power and Energy Society BUITEMS Branch Chapter. He is a Microsoft Certified Educator and a member of IEEE and Power America.
