With the changes of teaching mode in Fall 2020, Instructional Technology will play an essential role in course delivery, student engagement, learning assessment, etc. Here is a list of Instructional Technologies that will help you reform your teaching in the fall. 

Canvas 101

This is a self-paced Canvas instructor orientation course that offers all aspects you should know about Canvas. You may go through each module or select the topics relevant to your teaching. 

Zoom

Zoom is a cloud-based, web collaboration service that connects multiple conference rooms and remote users for online classes, meetings, and group projects.

CATME

CATME SMARTER Teamwork is a system of secure, web-based tools that enable instructors to implement best practices in managing student teams.  The tools and training are supported by the literature on teamwork and training, along with independent empirical research. 

As an instructor, CATME can help you to:

  • Gather information from students and provide feedback to students.
  • Understand their student teams’ processes, team-members’ contributions, and students’ perspectives on their experience.
  • Be aware of problems occurring in their students’ teams.
  • Hold students accountable for contributing to their teams.
  • Use best practices when managing student team experiences.

PDF Annotation

A lot of times, instructors would like to annotate on a document to write out ideas, visualize concepts, demonstrate equation solving, etc. It provides the opportunity for students to follow along, and be actively engaged with the content. There are different tools that can facilitate this type of activity while teaching remotely.
